About Me:
I am a senior MIS major at Texas A&M University's Mays School of Business. I will be graduating in August 2012 and beginning a career in Information Security at USAA in San Antonio, TX. Until then I have a full schedule consisting of remaining classes for my degree, studying for certifications (CompTIA Security+, (ISC)² CISSP) and attempting to gain experience with the Linux CLI via webserver administration and web design.
MIS curriculum provides a basic understanding of networking, programming and database design, as well as project management and business concepts.. but not enough technical knowledge for me to feel comfortable in my future role. In order to prepare myself I took and passed the CompTIA Network+ exam in February, plan on taking the Security+ exam in May, and will be moving towards taking the CISSP exam over the summer.
